High Rayn of Solthar

The High Rayn of Solthar is the most important role a person of the Solian fate can aspire too. Although it may appear as if the High Rayn of Solthar is of a higher importance then the title of Rayn of Vrahlis, that is not the case, as they share the same role for their respective version of Solianism and the difference is only nominal.

Qualifications

To be appointed as a Rayn, one must first become a member of the Solian clergy, before being appointed as a Arcan. From there, other Arcan may appoint them to the post of Rayn of Solthar. The same process is true in Vrahlis also.

Requirements

No requirements need to be filled except for the commitment to the Fate. Anybody can theoretically become High Rayn, but realistically, only a popular Arcan can ever get the chance to become High Rayn.

Appointment

The appointment occurs in the Great Temple of Solthar. All the Arcans under the leadership of the Rayn of Solthar are invited to the city for the grand ceremony in which the chosen Arcan takes the seat of Light, signaling the start of his duty.   Although the process is done by other Arcans, it is believed that these Arcan were inspired to choose the right person as Rayn by Saol himself.

Accoutrements & Equipment

During ceremonies, the High Rayn wears a modified Nsen, which is a long togue like peice of clothing, which has accents of gold and silver weaved in it. He is also always accompanied by the The Hand of Saol, a large metal staff said to help the Rayn communicate with Saol during the Summer Solstice Festival's closing ceremony.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

If a Rayn breaks one of the 7 tenants of Fate in Solianism, he will be removed.
