Stories from the adventurers

This issue

The guild is hired to travel to Lauzea and face off against an undead creature with the power of... glass? Let us see how these adventurers deal with such an unusual foe.

Lauzea: Stained Glass

Ravkyn Applecoy seeks ambitious nature loving bronze adventurers. A glassblower has decided to stop being dead in Lauzea causing large amounts of problems in Amystice. Ravkyn wishes for a group to go there, fix that problem, collect the glassblower manuals AND collect a set of butterfly eggs for personal reasons.

Wogar

Met in Guild Hall with Florence, know him, has horse. Also Malcolm, Toblin, Arrash and angry Max. Were told go on mission to Lauzea. Some blower of glass dead, steal his books, kill him again and get eggs from butterfly.   After talk with Lornan were sent to embassy of Lauzea where apple merchant gave us mission and explained things. Were to go to a duke, go do the killing and stealing and taking the eggs, and would get paid. He also talked a lot but told us when did not have to pay attention.   Weird. If not need pay attention was not worth waste time to say, right?   We went to the Gate, and through. A woman stood there, told us to follow her. Do not generally follow elf women. We did follow. Were led to home of Duke, more talking, more repeating of mission. Would be given six horses. Turned out on loan, not given.   Woman from before named Fehlynn, also horse, led us along. Flowers looked at us. Ravens looked at us. Malcolm started talking with the ravens. We followed raven who led to tree with eggs. Wogar stole the eggs from the tree.   Travelled on, reached village, met man who started talking to us. Were late, tea was cold. Who cares, cold tea easier drink. Man told us that voices came from place with graves. Voice telling people to stay out. People not respect, people not stay out. Dead rise to keep people out.   Wogar need learn raise dead, use for army.   Man told us glassblower difficult name turned people into glass statues. Sounds cheating for glass blower.   Were told of zombies, and skeletons, and creatures throwing star goo. Stuff suck up magic. Do know Ilnevalr left me during mission. His power failed.   We went to the place with graves, and got into fight. One looked like knight, others zombies and skeletons. Knight bad to hit. Ilneval’s magic unreliable. Fight took long, went dark once. Still in end we won.   After rest went back, zombie with sign: “Leave”. We killed him. Went down into mausoleum glassblower. Arrash rushed to wall with books. Ghosts came down, and spirit rose from broken stone box amid colorful star goo stuff. Another fight, magic worked some, but went in with sword. More reliable. Wogar turning into grunt.   All turned dark, could not see, followed sound of steps, found enemy again, continued attacking. Hit hard, still went on. In end we won. Others looted place of burial. Then went home. Florence during fight turned into statue, glass. Wogar carried back. Know not what will happen. Would not fit in my shack.

Max

Greetings again, most esteemed readers,   It is I, Maximus Gitosi. This time, I had the rare opportunity to travel to my own homeworld to do a quest. It is unknown to me why it is frowned upon to join these quests, but alas, it is so.
Therefore, when I had permission to join the quest to help rid a village in Amystis of undead, I immediately signed up.   With me, were my companions Malcolm, a hunter with a very special sense of fashion, Toblin, a halfling whose cutting words strike into the heart of the enemy, Sir Florence, and his trusty steed Ferian, a true knight if I ever saw one, Arrash, a scaly sorcerer who shoots with magic and Wogar, an orc with whom I have an understanding. After all, we adventurers are here to serve and protect.   My cousin’s assistant, mr Ravkyn Applecoy, told us the aim of the quest. We were to travel towards the small town of Antiakles, and get rid of their undead problems. Allegedly, this was related to a dweomersink. And if we were there anyway, we could just as well bring some samples of the local fauna, in the form of eggs of the Amystean red Harlequin, a butterfly species I had never encountered before. Thanks to the mayor of Antiakles, though, I have learned quite a lot of tidbits about the creatures. But I digress.   When we traveled towards Antiakles, first by gate (to Lauzea), then by circle (to Sharf in Amystis) and finally by horse, we were met upon a quite peculiar sight. Fields upon fields of flowers were slowly turning their heads as we passed, seemingly following us. Malcolm decided to ask some crows, who, upon offering a silver or two, promptly led us to a tree cluster, where we found our first butterfly eggs.   After a talk with the mayor, we were shown to a mausoleum. Close by it, there were more trees where we found butterfly eggs.
Indeed, the area seemed infected with a magic-warping mud, interfering with mostly Toblin and Arrash’s efforts. We decided to quickly make work of the undead outside. Some of them were flinging balls of the mud at our backline, so while sir Florence and Wogar charged upon the bigger ones, I tried to protect the backline as well. Sir Malcolm was briefly chased by one zombie, but luckily managed to escape. I could not prevent, unfortunately, that one of them went into the mausoleum, warning whatever was inside of our presence.
After we took a little rest to catch our breaths (even though the abridged paragraph suggests it was a quick and easy fight, it was quite hard), we decided to go in. There, we encountered translucent statues, which tried to freeze us up, while a ghost, a thing of horror, was in the middle of a room, almost toying with us. It was nigh-impossible to get to the creature, the magic mud fueling its strength, until Arrash conjured a globe of darkness, forcing it out of its comfort zone. Sir Florence, Wogar and I were caught in a very cold magic, turning Florence into a statue. Somehow, I got lucky and managed to dodge the brunt of the cold. After that, with Ares at our side, we managed to defeat this creature of darkness.   We brought Florence along, very carefully, and delivered him at the Lauzean embassy where he thankfully returned back to life after a few days.   I’m very grateful for that chance to make my homeland a safer place, and hope I’ll get another mission there in the future.
