Spiney Whiskerfish

Spiney whiskerfish are catfish-like freshwater bottom feeders with a back ridge of spines and a whiskered face. The irises of their eyes are a silver ring around a black pupil. Their bodies are silver and black with white markings.

Whiskerfish eat water plants, water insects, debris, smaller fish including bogfish, and young black toads. Whiskerfish are eaten by bog gaters.
