Witch Coven
Structure
The Witch Coven is governed by eleven elders known as "babi", that serve as a council which makes internal decisions for the order and represent it before other bodies.
Within the Coven, three departments oversee the training and rights of the witches who specialise in each of the three disciplines of witchcraft - potion making, arcane studies and blood magic. Although the Coven is mostly responsible for teaching witchcraft, it also serves as a Witch Guild and maintain full control over all applications of witchcraft within society.
Witches, as masters of potions, are also the primary healers and pharmacists among the dark elves, and as such the Coven is also responsible for maintaining the public healthcare services.
Public Agenda
The Coven aims to teach and provide for all witches. It's purposes are mostly educational and economical.
Assets
The Witch Coven, like most other organisations within dark elven society, has access to it's own academy and training grounds, mansion, guest houses, gardens, breweries, shops, etc. Since the primary export of the Dark Elves is potions and remedies, they are one of the wealthiest organisations within their society.
History
The High Queen formed the Witch Conclave with the task of exploring the mystical aspect of the world, something that few were doing at the time. She taught the first of the Babi to see Beyond, into the world of the fae, and to interact with the ethereal.
Over time, the Coven expanded upon those aspects and now they pass the knowledge onto their younger sisters, teaching them how to materialise thought, how to capture moonlight, how to heal... and harm.
