The Scaled Doctrines
Balnenet's church, despite it being so young, has suffered a significant schism. These two churches work towards the same goal, a balanced world, but through two methods. The Hearth of the Balanced is an organization focused on helping each person live a balanced life, while The Balancing Weight takes a more extreme approach to the same end.
History
This schism was born of a single member of the church. In those times (c. 3381), there was only one church of Balnenet, the Hearth of the Balanced. Their work was slow, and not everyone they encountered wanted to live a life of balance. There were many who desired lives of excess, even if they had no means to achieve what they wanted. Knowing thet there was an abundance of people that would never accept to live life by Balnenet's tennets, a well known dragonborn priest named Zellyg of Avzqap approached a number of his peers with a design to conform the world to Balnenet's desires through a new approach. Within three years, they had laid their groundwork: swaying a number of the Hearth's number to their side, secreting away resources, and taking control of no less than three of the Hearth's monasteries.
When Zellyg gave the order, The Balancing Weight was born. An organization dedicated to balancing the world through force.
Tenets of Faith
While the two organizations agree on little, they do both acknowledge the following:
A balanced world is a safer world.
An unbalanced world is the enemy of progress.
Progress should be shared.
