The Balancing Weight
The Balancing Weight understands that not every person is willing to accept balance into their lives. Many of their own members will never be balanced. Instead, their focus is on fighting unbalance in the world head on themselves. They have made it their mission to topple tyrants, bend the wills of the wild ones, and evicerate evil. They care not for helping these people seek salvation, instead knowing that their decisions have landed them beyond redemption.
The Weight will use any and all methods, resources, and people to accomplish their goal, so long as they can maintain control. If the Weight loses control of an asset, be it a person or an item, they will either recover it, or destroy it. They are brutal, efficient, and focused. When they get involved, things can get very dark, very quickly.
On a few occasions, members of the Weight attacked members of other churches for not worshipping Balnenet. This seems to have been a bridge too far, as members of the Weight who do this are smited by Balnenet's angels, or in rare and brutal cases, by the god Himself. His desire for balance seemingly does not require that all people bow to Him as god, as some other gods desire.
The only other time that Balnenet has personally punished the Weight, or ordered their punishment, has been when they turned their focus onto the Hearth. These have been his most severe punishments, not even whispred about in the barracks or mess halls. All that is known is that the bodies of the perpetrators are destroyed wholly, and that their souls are relegated to an eternity of service to their victims.
Zellyg keeps a hard hold on the reins of the Weight, ensuring that none do to him as he did to the Hearth. There have been two attempts, but both times, he learned of their plans and dismantled them piece by piece before forcing the would-be traitors out. Balnenet takes no action here, allowing Zellyg to be potentially betrayed as he once betrayed. The leader has been grooming a few potential heirs, hoping to find or mold one that matches his fervor for Balnenet and that can understand the rules that the god seems to be imposing on the organization.
Structure
The Weight is still run by Zellyg of Avzqap, who has taken the title of Counterweight. He leads the Weight by himself, ensuring that it never wavers from his vision: a world free of oppression, chaos, sacrifice, and exploitation by any beans neccesary.
Many of the senior members of the Hearth that he managed to sway have become his advisors, helping him gather intelligence, marshal forces, and discover threats. Beyond this, the organization is fairly fluid, moving people and resources around as needed.
Culture
The Balancing Weight is an organization of brutal efficiency, that has harnessed the focus and bloodlust of killers to visit their vision of success on the world. While they also attract members of a more upstanding moral code, the presence of these cutthroats and assassins can leave the entire atmosphere of the Weight tense and stressful.
