Gimbar
Gimbar is a large town or small city, depending on who you ask. Despite the happy atmosphere and deep historical significance of the city to the Gnomes, it is the target of near constant raids by roaming orcish bands. Some take it upon themselves to find orcish camps and relay locations to the fort at Gordent's pass, while others seek to take out the orcs themselves.

Government
As a historically significant Gnomish site, the Townmaster is appointed by Gnomish council to be a steward of the location and its residents.
Defences
Despite standing for several hundred years, constant attacks by Orcs has made it difficult to build up lasting defenses. Their raids often end up destroying sections of defenses, destroying infrastructure, and ruining preparations for new defenses.
Industry & Trade
Gimbar is near a river that is active seasonally due to rains, and equidistant from an iron mine and Gordent's Pass, a significant military outpost high in the mountains. As such, it is an important destination logistically for both trade and military movements.
Geography
As it is built on the side of Dlinthar Mountain, many of the East/West roads of Gimbar go up and down the mountain. The gnomes take advantage of this. Since the river is downhill, and the mine uphill, it is easier to transport iron to the river, and to bring empty carts and wagons back to the mine.
