Windwalker

It be a ghostly apparition that none but the blood marked may see. The summoner becomes the first Blood Marked and would be wise to take precaution and plans. It be accompanied by the sound of chimes and a stirring of winds. It be the size of a cow and travels across ceilings, walls and even burrow with equal ease as it doth stalk it's prey. Salt water burns it as an acid. No weapon may harm it lest it be enchanted. Normal fire and the magical lightnings and fires may harm it. The face seems like that of mortals but is the hard chitin of an insect and shows no expression. It does not sleep or rest, singularly focused upon it's target. It does not speak, making only a chuckling purr when it has the victim in sight. If it be cast back from whence it came, it will take up the hunt once again when next summoned, first seeking the freshest Marked and then working back. I live my days in fear that it be summoned once more.

Summary

The Windwalker will only hunt and kill the Blood Marked and choses the most recent, freshly Marked as preferred. Summoning it produces the Blood Mark upon the summoner. The Marked must make the mark from their own blood upon the intended victim to transfer the creature's focus. The Mark is spiritual once made and while the appearance may be wiped or washed away the mark is not removed.

it requires both a disenchant/ dispell AND a Remove Curse to remove the Mark. If the Windwalker is destroyed it is dispelled back to the domain from which it came. It will resume the hunt when summoned next.

This seems to be a creature only to be summoned in the most dire or evil of circumstances. I'd hate to be blood marked. The passage, did this person summon the Windwalker, or did they somehow bare witness to it?

The apprentice was marked somewhere along the line. And yes, it is a desperate measure sort of summoning.
