Fayd Pharazod the Ambassador Character in Charron | World Anvil

Fayd Pharazod the Ambassador

The most honorable and esteemed, excellency and Ambassador

"We well know now that it is a Sidereal Fae. In the later days of the Great Kingdoms, at the very threshold of the rise of Bihigan and the apocalyptic War of Inx, that was not known. It had appeared at dawn at the city gates of Incaras, in a splendid carriage with gold and silver filigree, painted in red, white and black and pulled by two black and indigo Nightmare horses snorting fire and smoke as they shifted and stomped their six legged feet. It's coachmen were as it's servants today - seemingly humans in blonde or white haired wigs, black or white porcelain masked faces, long red coats over black or red shirts and skirts. The legs in black fishnet stockings with garters and black calf-high boots. The Butler announced Fayd at the gate and sought entry as the Ambassador excellent and supreme. Large bags of coin were given. And with that Fayd was admitted and took up residence. Ambassador of what and whom is still not clear."
Master Doroffo,  Chair holder of History, University of Incaras. From his new book "The History of Incaras Personages."

It is almost always death or worse to encounter the Sidereal. Except in the City of Mercenaries, Incaras, in the Inx region. Here the Hand and Host, and sometimes the Ambassador it's self might been seen on the streets or enroute to or from some gathering, event or party or gala.

Physical Description

Body Features

Fayd is tall, nearly 7 ft, and changes from male to female at whim. Sometimes with breasts, sometimes in several sets, wider hips and feminine character to face, gait and appearance. Othertimes unidentifiable or as masculine with robustness of stance, pace and face more male in features. The face is mask-like, a painted porcelain doll. Unlike most masks the eyes open and close as does the mouth. From behind the mask-face are seen tufts of red hairs with black tips and long pointed ears like a fox. Long delicate fingers in elbow length black gloves. Long legs in red boots , that may show from under a gown. Some have said that they have seen scaled and taloned raptor feet when it wore sandals on an occasion of attending the chariot races. The Ambassador favors shoulder length hair either black, red or blue-grey, occasionally white. Flowing robes of flower petals, or exotic feathers of bright and irridiscent colors. Vests of strange scaled leathers, shiny greasy feeling material and flaring pantaloons in rainbows of colors or iridescent. Its known to love sensation - food, drink, exotic scents. Musicians. A pool of slaves is kept for itself and favored guests.

Apparel & Accessories

Flowing robes of flower petals, or exotic feathers of bright and irridiscent colors. Vests of strange scaled leathers, shiny greasy feeling material and flaring pantaloons in rainbows of colors or iridescent. It most frequently has calf to thigh high black boots with long pointed toes and tall heels. Whatever the Ambassador appears to be wearing at gatherings or events becomes an item of discussion, rumor, fashion and social aspiration for the season.
It rarely wears hats, but seems to prefer them adored with a few feathers, a comb or horns. Usually once a season there is vine, leaves, twigs or flowers. Position and angle change as frequently as the material. Sometimes it is merely a garland around the head.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Fayd's role and actions are as "Ambassador, diplomat and socialite." It represents only itself and it's household. It denies representing The Sidereal Fae  in general. Fayd has acted diplomatically with the Grey Court Fae, reaching some agreements from them. For example, It is the one and only Sidereal to be allowed in the city, by it's own decree. It is known to have destroyed or driven out at least 3 in the five centuries and change of it's residence.
Decadent sensation seeker on surface, it considers City it’s domain. It apparently seeks co- existance with mortals and fae and others, but views all other Sidereal as threat. It loves pageantry and politics: holding balls and small parties or attending social and diplomatic gatherings to probe, listen, gossip and trade secrets. Yet for all that it is minimally involved in the politics and positioning in the city. Money is insignificant to it. Power over mortals and other ephemerals meaningless. Strangely that gives the Ambassor's residence uncommon status as neutral ground and a place to negotiate and make deals, fostered by it's hospitality and rare assistance or commentary.

Likes & Dislikes

It is known to love sensation and novelty - food, drink, exotic scents, Musicians, artists and entertainers. A pool of slaves is kept for itself and favored guests. It well known to flirt and entice, but that is all.
It hates the boring and simple. The unique and interesting draw it's attention.
It also hates all other Sidereal that infringe on it's domain, or approach without announcement and permission. It has acted in defense of the city from creatures and forces. It's responses have been swift, dramatic and devastating in ways that make it clear that Fayd Pharazod is one of the most powerful beings in the City of Mercenaries. In the War of Inx The Ambassador, with it's other aspects, wiped out a phalynx of Swarm Devils that had broken past a regiment of Centaur cavalry that were augmented by their Node magics. Reports said the Ambassador gave one warning for the Devils to retreat, then swept through the enemy as a fox in a chicken coop, maiming and breaking devils, hurling them aside like kittens and leaving the other aspects in it's wake to finish and clean away what was left.
The Heart of Fayd Pharazod the Sidereal appears to be The Butler.  Most frequently a he, it is 6 ft tall. A lanky bent spider like figure in black and white livery. White spats over the black polished shoes. The hair is sparse and lanky. The face, long and narrow with slit nostrils and cross pupilled pale yellow eyes. The skin pale, nearly white inside. In sunlight a faint pattern of irridescent scales can be seen on the skin. It oversees the house, manages the staff and attends to details. It's voice is cold and always calm.
The Hand is a long armed, bandy legged 1 meter tall lemur like creature of pure shadow and darkness, referred to as The Creeper. It doesn't speak as far as any mortal knows. It has no visible eyes, ears or mouth.  It spies and patrols in and around the city and is sometimes seen devouring the ectoplasm of broken spirits and chimera with loud crunching and slurping sounds. Also no spell defense or barrier can bar it's passage.
The Host are the Coachmen - the servants and guards. They are made up of figures that are men, women, both and neither. Porcelain doll faces with black or red face masks. Red long coats and vests and skirts. Black fishnet stockings with garters and black calf-high boots. With white or blonde curl hair wigs.  Some are Chimera, some are of the substance of the Sidereal and some are mortals that have joined Fayd's service and been shaped, changed and crafted to something other. They are mostly silent and able to speak mind to mind with the rest of the household. They move with grace and as if in constant dance. If under attack they produce fine thin blades of pure clear crystal like glass but hard as steel.

What an interesting Sidereal Fae - completely different to others you have described. I like that its house is used as neutral terrain as it doesn't particularly care for power or politics. The heart, hand and host are really interesting as well.

This is my comparison. Many are nightmarish. Most are representations of some concept. "The Mad King". "The Lord of Eyes" "Mistress of Ruin".
