Cryptkeepers of Broken Hill

Nothing is known about these Demonic Age entities that were found in a broken Crypt building/ shrine in the Craig Hills outside of Soojun town in the far eastern Esereti Frontier. They were found in a structure that was encased in basalt. Part of the structure of glassy blue opaque material was broken and allowed access to the interior. One room, possibly more contained upright metalic sarcophagi. Within the sarcophagi were wrapped bodies, approximately 8 ft tall. The inner outer edges of the sarcophagi were lined with stones. The beings awoke/ animated when disturbed:
It has three arms, the undersides of which have small tentacles and spines projecting from the wrappings. It stands on three legs, similar to the arms. There are no feet. The bulbous head is on a long neck and has a frill of small waving tentacle feelers. It lashed out and sent Ongu flying across the room. Another arm wrapped around Jahzi and squeezed, as it pulled itself from the box. Our quick sword attacks bounced off the thing....
Report of the survivor of the Broken Hill Crypt
Almost nothing is known after the first expedition was wiped out.  It was stronger than the humans fighting it and shrugged off sword attacks. It could not squeeze through the crack in the outer wall of the Crypt building.  Though tentacled, it seems to have some rigid boney structure that did not compress. Fire caused it to pause.  It showed no overt magical capability or powers. The informed speculation of scholars and sages of Demon Age crypts suggest they may be undead things, automatons or possibly some sort of demon or spirit entity.  Or possibly the sarcophagi held them sleeping for the thousands of years they have been entombed in stone.
There is interest in another expedition since these Demon Age Crypts contain great mysteries, treasures, magics and devices of unknown powers and kinds.
