Evergem

Evergems are shards of stone that emit a cold and gentle glow ranging from purple to magenta to a pinkish red. They are sometimes left behind after an Abyssian dies. Generally extremely rare, they are most commonly fished up by the Duskmerics from the Idomarth Sea. These evergems are believed to be from the remains of Ahegaalwa. Evergems are commonly turned into light sources that are exported and are called evercandles, which are essential for journeys through the Miiras Underchannel. Shaping or otherwise chipping them usually results in the light going out, so finding ones of suitable size and shape is uncommon. Once the light goes out, they are considered no more valuable than other gemstones such as amethyst.
