B5 Crossroads District of Gorled

The Crossroads District of Gorled is the most southwestern portion of the city of Gorled. It is also the only place within the city of Gorled where it is possible to cross over directly to Martelain (most of the time). However, this wood bridge is usually the first casualty of the many wars that have been fought between the Gorled Kingdom and the Dorgard Commons, usually due to the soldiers of Dorgard trying to make it difficult for Gorled troops to move across the Loudewater River easily.   It is a busy and thriving area of the mighty capital city of the Gorled Kingdom, with numerous businesses as well as a beautiful wooded park along the banks of the Loudewater River. The main road that follows along the north side of the river also leaves the city here, passing through an old but well maintained and fortified South Gate. The gate towers also serve as barracks, housing a large number of the king’s troops.   The area also contains a fairly large open-air market square where people who cannot afford a building or who are from out of town can haggle their wares. There is also a smaller and less frequented (and triangular, despite its name) market area known by the locals as the Beggars Square.   Please note that if the map/image of this district is opened (in a new window or tab) it will show at a higher resolution on most computer systems and will be easier to read, if needed.   The population of this district is roughly 6,500 residents.
