Acorn's strange apprehension

[Prompt: A letter sent in secret by a well-known person in your world]   Intended recipient: Violet Sky, Traveling Scout of Trepizone Roots   [Tied to the letter: a mixture of soil, leaves, and feathers from the area the letter was written; contained by a woven mesh bag, pink to signify Spring Morning, and secured with pink twine to indicate circadian morning] Speaker: Scattered Acorns, Chief Architect of Oaks Island Purpose: To express heart's heaviness in hopes of lessening it, and to solicit any thoughts advice the intended wishes to share Mood: Weary and Apprehensive   Oh, Violet. I think I've made a mistake. Maybe not, but it doesn't feel right. I've been building bridges by labor-niche for two seasons now. I am growing in skill and confidence in my work. Yet it is getting more difficult to sustain. Aren't things supposed to get easier as you get better at them? I thought I might just be working beyond my limits. I tried slowing my output for a while, but the feeling did not lessen. I am tempted to slow even more and more, past the threshold of acceptability. Of course, I would never, but the fact that I'm feeling it so persistently tells me something is wrong.   I don't know what the root of the wrongness is. My work is high quality. My supes approve of it. I am skilled. I am facilitating the crown's goals, a model citizen. So what is missing?   If you have any insights, I would love to hear them. Perhaps an aerial view will lend better perspective.   I miss you. I wish you winds most favorable and senses keen on present deployment. I am ever eager to hear of your adventures and insights. And I hope you're making some time to paint!   When your assignment is complete and you return to me, I will cover you in kisses and lose myself in your twilight gaze. I can't wait until we're together again -- though, of course, I will. You're doing so much for the colony.   I love you. I admire you. I am eager for your thoughts.
