Reunion

General Summary

Joetta has arranged for an invitation to a decadent party to be sent to Mazaletta the sorceress of Nan Tarim to allow Joetta a clearer run at the mansion where she believes and hopes her lover Niall Gregor is being held. Once the sorceress has departed, Joetta infiltrates the house once more and discovers the cell where Hatha is being kept. She arms him but tells him to remain where he is until she returns.
Exploring the house, Joetta finds no sign of Niall Gregor but discovers Mazaletta's chambers. She is discovered there by guards including the silent armoured warrior who seems to be their captain.
A commotion ensues as impatient Hatha escapes from his cell and causes an alarm. He and Joetta reunite and Hatha skirmishes with the guards. The captain of the guards does not join in but seems transfixed by Joetta. She engages his attention and removes his helmet to reveal the face of Niall Gregor ensorcelled by some spider-talisman embedded in his forehead. The control on his seems to weaken and Joetta leads Niall Gregor and Hatha out into the grounds but they cannot all escape as Mazaletta returns from her festivities. Hatha is sent to find Bobor Pat'an and poor Niall Gregor falls again under Mazaletta's spell as she draws near.
The house is in turmoil as the sorceress discovers the upheaval of the night. Servants are berated and flogged and Mazaletta retires drunkenly to bed guarded by the captain - Niall Gregor
Joetta sneaks into the sorceress' bed chamber and locates the jewelled and gilded hand-jewellery that seemed to be the focus of control for Niall Gregor She poisons Mazaletta's flagon of wine by her bedside and leaves. On smashing the jewelled talisman Niall Gregor is freed from control and the two leave to reunite with Bobor Pat'an and Hatha
Hatha is torn between travelling to Nan Tarim to rescue his mentor Azmazar or taking the journey to the sacred temple of his people and begin the process of regaining his tribe.
Niall Gregor and Joetta return to the inn where Joetta had been lodging. He suggests they should be raising an army to take back Skotha from Jeldon ... but that can wait until the morning.
