Bolton Landing
Bolton Landing is the first city to be settled on the Ursa Islands . Starting as a small trade and fishing outpost it quickly grew into a major city. Originally the settlers were 4 ships coming from the Country of Silvania, but as the journey progressed the components of the fleet changed. The maiden ship "Bolton's Charge" remained the fleet leader along with it's sister ship "Winds of Gloria" but they lost the other two ships "Skyline" and "Sea Skimmer" to a surprise Dragon Turtle attack. As the surviving ships made port to repair their ships and gather supplies they also took on new passengers and even new ships. The composition of the group changed from colonizers of Silvania to folk looking for a new home.
This new group made landing on Ursa Islands south western point and quickly became a beacon for people looking for a new start. Unfortunately life is difficult on the island as the settlers soon found. Certain crops they planted turned on them, vicious beasts assault the outpost, and unnatural happenings plague the people. Life is difficult, but the promise of a new land allowed the people to persevere and when word got out of the city, they thrived.
Over time the city grew but unfortunately word got back to Silvania and it wasn't long before the the hammer of their navy arrived looking to claim the city or subjugate it. The city stood firm in their independence and withstood the siege while the invaders dealt with the cities counter attack and the islands own wroth. The City remained standing as the Silvania navy retreated and it has remained an independent entity since. The leader who emerged from that week of sieging was Elliot Zevon who continues to lead the city to this day and has turned it into a prospering capital of trade with the outside world. His son Duval Zevon is an artificer who works to increase the city defenses and performs missions for the Adventurers Guild in the City.
