Personal history
Melissa Jade Vine was born in Laxva Harbor to a fisherman. At the age of 5, the family could not afford to feed her and was forced to sell her as a slave to the Salmon Shipcrafting guild. It was a tough life and she got regularly beatings. At the age of 7, she was sold to a wealthy member of the Fishermans Guild as his servant girl. The beatings seemed unable to cease and sometimes she became sexually harassed by her owner. She ran away and sneaked on board a ship sailing south to Oath City. There she was adopted by a wealthy Knight proved in combat and learned the art of war. When she became 16, she had a dispute with her adopted father and she ran away again. She was contacted by the Ravens, a crime syndicate with connections to the Pope, and was offered a job as a bodyguard in a delivering project. She accepted. The project failed because of her, and the Ravens lost goods worth 150 gold coins. She knew she had to pay them back. 150 gold coins are still a lot of money. She found sanctuary with the Order of Valkyries when they accepted her in to her ranks.
