Yacon
As the first recorded republic in Cerea, Yacon was revolutionary in that it allowed denizens to vote, own property, and have due process for civil matters (none of which was commonplace until almost a thousand years later).
Structure
Led by a Stronglord and an adjutant, most civilians within the community refer to themselves as 'lowers'.
History
Founded as a traditional feudal city-state in or around 2975 PKA, nothing set Yacon apart until roughly 3 PKA when a female Stronglord came into power and dismantled the feudal system in favor of a more representative government.
Military
Unlike many other city-states of the time, Yacon did not draft citizens to participate in military expeditions, but instead paid a volunteer army to be vigilant at all times.
