A lady-in-waiting or a steward for Lords and Stronglords.

Appointment

No special ceremony is required to obtain this position but the individual must pledge loyalty to the superior.

Duties

Seconds are required to do any and all tasks as assigned by their lord or superior.

Accoutrements & Equipment

Seconds will wear a precious metal cuff bracelet (it is permanent and, while not constrictive, is representative of the individual's pledge of loyalty). The bracelet is only to be removed when they are dismissed or removed from their position. Loyal seconds who died in service are allowed to be buried with it.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Disloyalty or dishonorable behavior is grounds for dismissal. If a second wishes to pursue personal interests, he/she may request temporary or permanent removal.

History

When the position was created, it was forbidden for a male to view any female who was not their property, so it was necessary for the female Blessed One to have ladies who could help her in daily life.
