The Dragons of Creation
Legend says that three great cosmic dragons formed the world as it is today. Bahamut was the picture of noble goodness, Tiamat knew nothing but hatred and vengeance, and Ceramet sought to merely exist within reality without changing it. The first two sisters, Bahamut and Tiamat, hated each other and everything the other stood for. The third sister, Ceramet, prefered to remain outside of the conflict and rarely took sides.
While Bahamut and Tiamat waged their endless battle across the cosmos, Ceramet bore two children, Chronos and Tenebrous. Chronos was constant and predictable while his brother Tenebrous was fickle and changing.
One of Tiamat’s plots to destroy her sister threatened to destroy all of creation, and so Ceramet finally stepped in to aid Bahamut and stop Tiamat. The fierce battle shattered Bahamut’s body, but Ceramet imprisoned the weakened Tiamat by wrapping her body around her sister. Exhausted, Ceramet fell into a great slumber, with her two sons standing watch over her. The great dragons can still be seen today - Bahamut, the silvery ring surrounding the planet; Tiamat, the dark and menacing underdark world; Chronos and Tenebrous, the two moons; Ceramet, the very world upon which we live.
