Saren Keep
Where growth and love is born.
Constructed during The Age of Calamity, Saren Keep was founded by the ancestors of those who worshipped The Everlight. A structure that stands as a beacon of guidance and protection during the time of undeath. This structure stands as a testament of good will and safety.
Standing upon the cliffs of the Tenebrian Timberlands this castle was forged of marble and grit. Jeweled with rubies, and opals and all metal being that of copper the central dome was a hub of knowledge and beauty. They say that if you stand in the center of the domed cathedral when the Sun is rising you can hear the whispers of the Dawn Mother.
Purpose / Function
Saren Keep was intended as a fortress to protect the newly arrived Eladrin elves into the prime plane. During the forging of early civilizations Sarenrae herself walked the prime plane and assisted in the creation of this beacon of light. All who could see the jewels from the tower were welcomed safe passage.
Alterations
Originally just a central dome of light to guide those who feared the darkness as more people came to it they began to build structures near and around it, this created the first settlement around the dome which intern became Saren Keep and Sarenia.
Architecture
The central dome of the castle is made of pure marble that stands over 500ft in height. Beautiful precious stones adorn every inch of the dome giving those who look at it thru out the day a spectral of colors. The main structured path ways all as well are made of marble stone with jewels leading the path to each major destination. Four major needle like towers extend to each corner of the land, sharing in decoration and stone that of the central tower.
History
During the end of the Calamity Wars when Sarenrae ascended to Elysium she left the castle to her most devout worshippers and named them the Saren Family. Once the Calamity Wars came to an end and the Age of Arcanum began the Saren Family took control of the Tenebrians Timberlands as a whole and began their rule as a monarchy, with Saren Keep and the capital city of Sarenia being their home.
The Saren Family ruled the area for 8 centuries until the fall of their kingdom due to a destructive cancerous disease, leaving all but one survivor. Ashamed and terrified of what had become of her kingdom Ariel Saren left her home and let the castle fall into deep ruin.
