Lifeweaver
An ancient race that existed before even the days of wandering human tribes, their ability to manipulate life forces and blood made them particularly effective healers and scientists. They studied the world and shared their knowledge with any who asked. This was before The Great Fall, when there was still peace on Celdaro and in the world of the divine. They died protecting the populations of Ancient Human and Elf.
Basic Information
Anatomy
No detailed record is made of the what the Lifeweavers actually looked like, as they all died during The Great Fall. Only a cursory mention was ever made that described them as "unsettling to lay eyes upon". It is known that they were a large, bipedal species with two hands and a hunchback appearance. If this hunchback was due to their actual anatomy or the sheer amount of clothing and items they carried is unknown. There is also an account that states someone who was under surgery by a Lifeweaver apparently regaining consciousness for a brief moment and claiming the surgeon had multiple pairs of hands and eyes.
Biological Traits
Lifeweavers were an advanced race of large stature and very perceptive abilities that were prone to research and study. They were superlative as healers and surgeons. They also displayed an incredibly precise control of their own bodies, standing perfectly still while moving utterly perfect with their hands during delicate surgeries or moving with great speed to catch objects or racing to a medical emergency.
Genetics and Reproduction
As their species never appeared in great numbers, it would seem they rarely reproduced or had a very long gestation period.
Additional Information
Average Intelligence
Capable of learning enough information to fill a library, Lifeweavers were naturally curious and could retain and recall a staggering amount of information. If they knew a family over the course of generations, they would be intimately familiar with every malady or illness that had ever occurred within that family.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Lifeweavers were so perceptive, that they could determine a myriad of maladies without the aid of tools on any living creature. They could detect an irregular heartbeat from a few feet away and could seemingly "see" through flesh and clothes to see blood clots and internal injuries. The true extent of their senses is not known.
Civilization and Culture
Common Etiquette Rules
As highly intellectual creatures, Lifeweavers would frequently learn the customs of others and their languages with great care. Even those who showed a more abrasive attitude showed kindness through their actions.
Common Dress Code
As a species, they were very uncomfortable with the other species of the world knowing what they truly looked like. Not even lifelong friends of other races were allowed to know how their mysterious friends appeared. To this end, they always wore large cloaks and mantles with layers of robes, scarves, pouches, and gloves to obscure their bare form.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Most Lifeweavers were very cordial and helpful creatures that wandered in search of those in need and things to discover. They were also prodigous historians and researchers.
Common Taboos
It was apparently forbidden to let another species learn of or see a Lifeweavers bare form.
