Old Karandian Empire

One of the most powerful empires to have ever existed, they fell apart when the chaos god Oflycus destroyed their capital of Ragnakesh. In their golden age they were known for their flourishing economy, powerful military and their strong ties to fire and fire magic.

Structure

Ruled by a singular emperor from his throne in Ragnakesh. Each city under its banner is ruled by their own sultan, however all swearing loyalty to the emperor.

Assets

Many gemstones and mithril deposits within the desert. Also had many beasts native to the Karanian Desert used for both battle and luxury.

History

Centuries ago they had conquered the lands from Karanian Desert, lands to the east toward Kilormak, to the northern Reynal Mountains. They ruled the centre of the world till the Defilement of Ragnakesh, which ended their empire.

Disbandment

When the capital of Ragnakesh fell, the entire empire fell into disarray, resulting in each city falling one by one to the Cult of Oflycus.

Territories

Their home territory spanned the entire Karandan Desert, however they went on to claim all of what is now known as Seldonia and the lands west of the Reynal Mountains.

Military

Their military was rather expansive, including many battalions of conscripts, many of which were slaves. The more elite forces were strictly of orcs and hobgoblin decent. Some specialist forces included goblins, as well as some exceptional individuals from other races. They also incorporated many war beasts and fire spirits in their armies.

Religion

The main two gods worshiped in the empire was Vithrine and Liranan, both in equal measure. Although the other gods were accepted the extent of worship was rather small.

Foreign Relations

At the height of its power most other kingdoms were rather aligned with them or payed tribute to them. The Marintia Alliance shared a peaceful relationship with them, engaging in trade across the Blood Born Sea. The Kordarum Kingdom had a frictional relationship with them, neither side wanting to declare outright war but both prepared for such an occasion. The Lustinian Theocracy payed tribute to them however behind the scenes they had animosity toward each other.

Agriculture & Industry

Due to being blessed by Vithrine they had the ability to create Springs of Life, which enabled them to flourish in the harsh desert where others could not. This allowed them to farm extensively in the desert and expand freely. They mined in along the eastern part of The Kordarian Range as well beneath Nakazra.
