Imperial Elves

The Elves that first remastered arcane magic, and used it to drive back the Dragonlords of old and forming the Cavalieath Empire, only to eventually become corrupted by power themselves and having their own empire fall six centuries later.   It is hypothesized that Imperial Elves were the descendants of the original elves that were placed in servitude to the kinder metallic Dragonlords, and thus were allowed to nurture their growing arcane scholars in "secret" without being exterminated as many practitioners were at the time.  Eventually these practitioners, handing down their skills to successive generations, were able to fully master arcane science.  It was at this time that they either stole, or were given, the keys to understanding anitech.  Using this newfound technology in conjuction with powerful arcane knowledge, Imperial Elves spearheaded the Dawn Rebellion.   After the fall of the Drogonstall, Imperial Elves were naturally suited and situated to take control over the many Dragonlord territories once ruled by their overlords.  However, the rebellion had taken any compassion and demihumanity from them, and they took their budding arts of necromancy to new heights in order to drive and perfect their craft of anitech.   For over six hundred years, Imperial Elves ruled all the races of Caveorth through arcane might, necromancy, politics, and powerful technology.  They were not above slaughtering entire settlements to harvest souls for their anitech while raising the corpses as levy troops or laborers.     Eventually, small uprisings drove fractures across the empire, and the defeat at Ochrewatch set a fire across the land as more and more settlements rose in defience.   The empire officially ended after the Void Collapse.
