Grave Dwarves
Grave Dwarves suffered massively at the hands Brass and Blue Dragonlords, forced to work until death to outfit entire armies that were sent to clash against each other like chess pieces for the amusement of their Dragonlords. Over a millennia of living in hot forges underground and never seeing the sunlight caused them to not be able to withstand its withering gaze, which could have been an extreme curse for a desert dwelling people. However, those same years toiling away in the same spaces near their Dragonlords allowed the dwarves to absorb some of the latent magic, and it is now a part of their lineage.
Grave Dwarves respect age above all else, for during the Drogonstall empire, age was a sign of great strength, cleverness, and wisdom. This cultural trait has remained, and now that Grave Dwarves had embraced arcane magics during their battles against the Imperial Elves, have meant that some Grave Dwarves have turned to lichdom in order to extend their life, and therefore accumulate more age and wisdom. The oldest Grave Dwarf Liches are only a hundred years old, and the terrible secrets and sacrifices to become a lich are not common knowledge. If others knew that these councilors had essentially become the enemy they fought for centuries, the fallout would be extreme.
