Meat Moss Species in Cava Nox | World Anvil

Meat Moss

Meat Moss is a species of plant commonly found in Cava Nox. It is named for its meat-like texture and the fact that it feeds on meat and other organic materials. It is edible to the Sarborcoda, with the Formless often seen consuming it.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Meat Moss has a fleshy structure that is soft to the touch. It secretes a moist film when it has fed, which dries over time.   It has extensive roots that detect decaying organic matter and feed on it. In some cases, it will even physically move to a location where it can feed more efficiently.

Growth Rate & Stages

Meat Moss can grow rapidly in areas with decaying organic matter, such as the remains of Sarborcoda that do not fully develop. It has also been known to feed on human corpses, leading to the disappearance of bodies when search parties return to retrieve them.

Biological Cycle

Meat Moss reproduces through both sexual and asexual means.
