Battle of Ayoshima

After the planetary shield was disabled by Pepé, Bill, and Buttercup, an LBF and Kitty Rebellion fleet took this opportunity to take an important wold from the Meow Order. The fleet was already staging a surprise attack on Ayoshima while using a smaller fleet to distract much of the Meow Order fleet assigned to protect the Ayoshima area. Then, after Pepé’s group unexpectedly disabled part of the planetary shield, the larger combined fleet of kitty Rebellion, LBF, and the new Panda and wolf clone forces quickly blasted through a small force guarding a hyperlane to Ayoshima and soon arrived at Ayoshima. The surprise attack and sheer size of the combined fleet shocked the Imperial Catopian forces on Ayoshima as they were facing over 150 capital ships of the biggest fleet the war had yet seen. This battle was also the first battle where the new Panda and wolf clone army was deployed, further surprising the Imperial cats. The Battle of Ayoshima was first fought with hundreds of battleships and of support capital ships along with thousands of star fighters in the upper atmosphere of the planet in effort to breach the Meow Order blockade. After the fleet got past the blockade, they started a ground campaign to attack Ayoshima City and other places were Meow Order forces were present. The campaign to take a Ayoshima City was several days long, but the tens of thousands of troops with hundreds of tanks and ground vehicles then overwhelmed Meow Order troops and took the city. The remaining meow order forces tried to evacuate as many troops and industrial products as possible. LBF and Kitty Rebellion forces stopped many retreating ships, but a good number got away.

The Conflict

Prelude

The Ligera Band Federation and their allies had been trying to attack Ayoshima for several weeks before this battle after they successfully liberated katotia, a major planet in southwest Katia. The LBF hoped to push an offensive into the Ayoshima region from here and capture Ayoshima to slow down the Imperial Catopian war effort and therefore repulse the Meow Order gains and offensives in much of the mid rim. Before the battle, a smaller LBF fleet engaged with a defense fleet in the nearby Glitzfern system, reachable to Ayoshima and Katotia by one hyperspace jump. This fleet was to distract the Ayoshima defense fleet from the real invasion force secretly gathering in LBF space in rage of another, smaller, gateway system to Ayoshima that was not as well protected. After Pepe’s team unexpectedly disabled part of Ayoshima’s shield, the perfect attack opportunity arose so the combined fleet of LBF and the Kitty Rebellion attacked the gateway system quickly and easily with their vastly superior firepower and then jumped directly to Ayoshima and ambushed the Meow Order blockade with their massive fleet which many of the ships were newly introduced into the war in this battle. One of the largest battles in the cat wars opened as dozens of LBF and Kitty Rebellion battleships and support ships emerged from hyperspace into the upper atmosphere to breach the blockade guarding the hole in Ayoshima’s planetary shield caused by the disabling of one of the shield generators.

Deployment

A Kitty Rebellion and LBF fleet attacked the Meow Order blockade surrounding the planet. After the blockade was defeated, over 150,00 panda and wolf clone troops were deployed on the surface of Ayoshima.

The Engagement

LBF and kitty rebellion troops engaged the Meow Order in space and on ground.

Outcome

LBF now controlled Ayoshima and was also able to advance further into Meow Order territory and take a few more planets in the area. Some ships from the invasion fleet went to help reinforce the ships at Glitzfern and take that planet too, so the LBF now had a easy clear route from Katotia to Ayoshima and the front lines.

Aftermath

The Meow Order lost much of its Industrial power and a tactical staging area for invasion to retake parts Katia or invade the Canine Sector. The animals of Ayoshima and it’s surrounding systems established the new government of the Republic of Ayoshima. This battle was also a turning point in the The galactic Cat war with the new panda and wolf clone army and the weakened Imperial Catopian industrial capacity. Now the Ligera Band Federation and it’s allies would repel many of the remaining Meow Order offensives and launch counter attacks into Meow Order space.

Historical Significance

Technological Advancement

A few meow order tech projects were destroyed or taken by enemy forces but projects such as the Supa-Fuzzy Robots were evacuated in time.

Strength

They used the newly completed Panda & wolf clone army. This gave them superior firepower and troops. They had a huge combined fleet totaling at 180 capital ships including 76 Cazator class Star Destroyers. 20 Armiger assault ships, 36 Perseverance class Destroyers, 17 Meownator Fednoughts, and 30 other supporting capital ships including frigates, corvettes, and light cruisers. The combined fleet’s command ship was the Kitty Rebellion flagship the rebellious, with the operation’s commanders General Samson and Admiral Togo. Over 180,000 panda and wolf clone and Kitty Rebellion troops invaded the planet with many hundreds of ground vehicles.
The Meow Order had a large army totaling at about a quarter of a million troops. They had a blockade of only 78 capital ships including 37 fednoughts and 15 catnoughts along with 26 suport ships including frigates and corvettes. Commanding the blockade was a larger command variant of a Conqueror class Catnought about 850 meters long. The commander of the fleet was General Garfield. The Meow order blockade was not at full force because of the delusion made by the smaller LBF fleet directed much of the capital ships away to supposedly protect Ayoshima from the threat. The Catopian Empire had established much firepower especially in Ayoshima City to protect this valuable industrial world.

Casualties

Out of the 336,000 total personal involved in the battle, 38,000 LBF troops and 11,000 Kitty Rebellion troops were injured or killed. They lost only 26 capital ships out of the 180.
The Meow Order had a whopping 88,000 troops injured, captured, or killed. They had 43 capital ships destroyed which is over half of the fleet.

Objectives

They were trying to take over Ayoshima to weaken the Meow Order’s military might in the Galactic Cat War.
Their objective was to defend Ayoshima and defeat LBF and Kitty Rebellion forces to drive them away.
