When Time Began - Capimao Amgedpha

In the beginning there the divine pair Obza and Ascha. Some call them siblings, others refer to them as lovers. The two looked upon the dark void and wished for more. They decided to make a world, Ascha traversed the Astral Sea until she came upon a world filled only with water she named Casus. Obza also set forth finding a large body of stone he called Simtura. Obza taking the stone named Simtura broke off sections and scattered them through the water held by Ascha. Upon completion Ascha looked upon their creation and smiled but dreamed of something far greater. Ascha removed from within her belly the essence of fire which he held near the newly formed Casus Simtura, granting it light. This light Ascha called Ror gave warmth to the new world and upon its surface life formed. Obza looked upon this and was pleased but after thinking he exhaled, blowing the winds over the land life soon flourished. Obza took what remained of the land called Simtura and created a small ball he placed opposite Ror, the sun, and named it Graa, the moon.   Obza and Ascha settled upon Graa to watch the Casus Simtura develop. A great number of grasses and trees sprouted across the world growing in abundance. Soon following the plants came the animals of all types to eat the plants and also each other. Obza and Ascha wishing to view all of Casus Simtura from their perch upon Graa gently began turning the world setting it to spin. Thus Casus Simtura would grow and change with ever unfolding events that would reshape the land and sprout forth new life. The gods gazed upon their creation but were soon called away. Before leaving Obza and Ascha created the Divine Seeds by combining the elements of air, water, earth, and fire to which they equally blessed with their divine spark. These seeds the scattered across the land as a final gift.   The Divine Seeds fell from above caught by the currents of air where dispersed to cover Casus Simtura. When the seeds struck upon the earth new creatures grew. Unlike the animals and plants that came before them these new creations were invested with the spark of sentience. The first of these were called Cordziz or "The People", as it is spoken in their Celestial language. The Cordziz spread over the land, though small in number their power was great. These divine immortals gathered in the western lands which they named Raas.   The lands of Raas were prosperous and provided a bounty of fish, game, and wild plants which the Cordziz hunted and gathered. The Cordziz thrived in Raas and as each new generation was born to join the immortal ranks the angel's population swelled. Eventually the angels decided to name a leader to establish order, they chose Abatur, and named him First of Cordziz, King of the Angels.

Summary

Obza and Ascha, the first creator gods form Casus Simtura using the elements of air, water, fire, and earth. In the process they also create Ror, the sun, and Graa, the moon then set the earth rotate creating night and day. Lastly the gods spread the Divine Seeds over the land which allow the later creation of many different species, the first being the angels, Cordziz. Eventually the Divine Seeds will be used to create servitor races like the Yuan-ti and Dragonborn and allow mortal beings to ascend to godhood.

Historical Basis

Though a number of creation myths exist among the peoples of Casus Simtura, Capimao Amgedpha, or When Time Began is considered to be the oldest, if not closest to the truth. The Capimao Amgedpha was copied from the walls of an unknown temple, now lost or forgotten. The tale was written in Celestial and is accredited to the first King of Londoh, (name). This myth, similar to many others, is specific to the angels or Cordziz.   The angels did rule over the lands for a century before mysteriously leaving for the upper planes. The kingdom of Londoh is later the cultural home of the Pash, or aasimar. It is believed that the continents of Sobol (western) and Raas (eastern) are named from this tale. The Drilpa Zodinu, does not continue to be used as a reference to the great sea, instead being called the Odumari Sea from the Draconic translation of the "Rift Sea".

Spread

The myth is known by few beyond scholars that specialize in ancient history and few believe their "wild tales". A few rare aasimar know the truth behind this myth or the secrets to their ancestral home in Londoh. Even rarer a few of those on the upper planes speak of their time "below" viewing their ascension to the "heavens" as their sublime state. One or Two angels, possibly only Abatur will speak openly of the angels conquest of the land and the monuments they left behind (all ruined and buried under Londoh and the neighboring areas).

Cultural Reception

Most aasimar have some passing familiarity with this legend as their creation myth but many doubt its accuracy. It is hard for mortal species to believe that angels once lived on Casus Simtura believing they have always dwelled in the upper planes. This coupled with the idea that angels are devout creatures that all live under a single code leaves few inclined to believe they once toiled like modern people.
