Imma

Imma is the deity of natural world among the Bonte, primarily as a druidic protector of wild animals, plants, and the nurturing light of the sun. She is also the goddess of Bonte hunters who are ordered by her to take only what is needed never for sport or fun. Any wild creature killed should be given respect and prayers or offerings should be lit to help guide their souls to the heavens. Imma is considered a wise and crafty goddess who teaches her followers to be smart foragers and hunters, outsmarting their foes with wise planning. She is also honored by the Bonte as a symbol for life granted under the ever watching sun whose light touches the world.   Imma is often depicted as a middle-aged woman long dark hair that is worn plaited and decorated with flowers or sprigs of saplings. She carries a staff of birch which is her sacred tree and wears soft earth colored robes. It is said that Imma will often descend from the heavens to wander among the forests she once called home. When upon the land she is followed by a retinue of wild creatures, especially stags which are considered a holy symbol to her worshippers. Her followers are tasked with being consummate protectors of nature using their skills to best any evil set upon the land. Most therefore follow the druidic arts over becoming temple priests but almost all Bonte settlements will have a sacred grove or temple on their edge.
