Petrified Forest

The Petrified Forest is limited, spacious, and ancient. Its canopy was contested by tall giant trees, most with no leaves and those with only boasting a frozen few. Sunlight beams down reflecting off of the icy ground revealing hardly any new flora amongst the towering ancients.
Swooping branches dangled from many a tree, and a potpourri of flowers frozen in time, which desperately tried to avoid the shadows, but failed and were trapped in a frigid stasis.
A mishmash of sounds, belonging mostly to fleeing animals, filled the air, and were accompanied by the sound of the wind blowing wickedly through the forest.
