There is no evidence to suggest a massive conspiracy by the Veznaru. They don't have the ressources, and they are far from united as the myth might suggest. The myth only serves those who hate The Veznaru, and would like to kill them all. The fact that the Veznaru travel the night with impunity. The land seem to led them pass. This is enough to warrant an investigation.
