My Summer Camp 2021 Worldbuilding Pledge Document
Which project are your worldbuilding efforts tied to?
My worldbuilding efforts during this Summer Camp will mainly be tied to preparation for outlining a novel, however I will also be thinking about it in terms of what should be public/secret for a potential RPG down the line.
What world are you working on?
Casimira! I might jump to another world if I just have the absolute perfect idea, but the focus will be on the world I'm currently building.
Which area of the world(s) are you working on?
As there is only one known continent, I plan to focus on whatever area of that continent that makes the most sense for the given prompt. However, my primary focus within that will be the Southern Lands and Alexi, as those are where the first novel takes place.
How much are you aiming to complete?
My big goal is going to be to get all 31 prompts and reach Diamond! 300 words on a given topic shouldn't be difficult to accomplish if I have my world in mind. However, I do have a family trip that ends at the beginning of July and another one in the middle, so I know it may not be easy. At a minimum, I would like to reach Silver so I have plenty of new articles to work on. Even if I only start all 31 and just don't get the words in, I want at least 20 to meet that 300 word threshold.
When will you write?
While at home, my primary writing time is going to be during sprints in my stream. I'd also like to add in morning sprints on my region's discord on days that I'm up early enough to do them. Away from home, my intention is to write first thing while everyone else is asleep and/or get some words in before bed if it isn't too late.
Who is your support network?
I have many people in my support network! From my NaNo community to my stream viewers, I have plenty of people to talk to when I get stuck! If I need inspiration, I can also listen to things like Not Another D&D Podcast or go play FFXIV and immerse myself in other stories so I start thinking about what my world would be like in that situation.
Daily Energy
I created a chart of how I feel during the day and even though I don't always stick to this (especially when it comes to sleep), my goal is also to keep track of when articles are written and compare them to this chart to figure out if there's a particular time that works best for me to be writing. It may be overkill, but the more I know about myself, the more I can write!
Organizing My Worldbuilding
I already had fairly straightforward categories, but I organized them into larger categories that made more sense. Instead of having the entirelist of categories available for everyone to see right away, I divided them up by what the reader might want to see: an introduction to the world, an encyclopedia of knowledge about the world, published or in-progress stories, and information for campaigns set in the world. It looks cleaner and much more organized like that. I still have to decide if I prefer articles about a given topic to link back to the main page as a parent article or give them an entire category to themselves (ex. an article on dragons as a species, but separate ones on hoards, scales, etc).

Even though most articles use the WA templates and prompts, there are certain things I aim to include in every article. This generic template will show all the typical styling choices I will use and what different things mean.
