Palisade Parkour
General Summary
Besella and Stela awaited the rest of the party, but as dawn turned to dusk and no sign was visible, Stela began to grow concerned. They sent out Giggle and cast their vision through the bird in hopes of getting a clearer view on their missing members. On Besella's request, Giggle was also keeping an eye out for any form of meat for Sarthak's pets. Late into the night, a sounding horn, distant but still recognizable, was heard on the wind. With still no sight of Caldwell or Gourm, the foreboding sound made them decide to move. During his search, Giggle did notice a famished zetogeki and a small party of bandits that appeared to be following a similar hunting pattern to Sarthak. Sarthak was willing to help them find their friends if they helped him kill these bandits that had been trying to usurp his territory for months now. They snuck up on them and attacked while they were searching for wayfarers to target.
Meanwhile, surrounded by the bodies of nearly a dozen guards, Caldwell and Gourm realized they needed to act quickly. They each downed a health potion as the made their plans. Knowing the guard took off to the south and was likely looking for reinforcements, they headed north searching for a path close to the wall to get out of the city before the alarm could be sounded. With Gourm using his brute strength to hoist himself to the top of the barricade, he then pulled Caldwell up behind him. As they reached they top, they noticed an elderly man walking nearby who saw them climb the palisade, so Caldwell flipped him a gold in hopes of buying his silence. Then the two took off towards their old camp in hopes of meeting up with the rest of the party, but they had to do so on foot, their horses left in the stable.
As they traveled, they stopped to cover their tracks twice, first as they were leaving, and a second time two hours before they made camp. Gourm chose to forgo rest allowing him to use his superior darkvision to keep an eye out for any how found their path but finding himself exhausted in the morning and unable to focus on anything for the next day of travel. During his night a massive, starving lizard stalked the forest but passed their camp unnoticed.
