The Quilt and Goblet Inn and Tavern
Welcome, wanderer, to the Quilt and Goblet! Here's a table, and I'm assuming you'd like a warm bowl of soup and bread and - well, drinks are on the house, so I'll let you decide tonight. Perhaps I should give you fair warning - you will exit this place in a land far different from the one you entered from. Would you like to learn about it? Well, we do have a few books on the matter, but look, over there, the musician? He's just about to strike up a song. I have a feeling that you'd like to listen to what he sings.
"Welcome, traveler, to the world of Grandspire."
"When the world was young and the land was old
When legends and myths were just getting told
When the winter was hot and the summer cold
That's when our story begins
The moons and the sun began to shine
The dwarves in the mountains began to mine
The elves sung to trees and forests sublime
And so our story begins
The castles were built
The songs were sung
The water was spilt
So the oceans were sprung
Great kingdoms arose
Grand weapons were forged
New foes to oppose
Old friendships restored
But there was more to discover
A magic to learn
New lands to uncover
A secret that burned
In a place where winds swept over the plains
Where forests are lush because of the rains
Where the mountains keep jewels and gold in veins
That's where magic resides
Where the water shines and the stars glow bright
Where chimes are heard all through the night
Where dwell earth, water, wind, fire, shadow, and light
It's the place that magic resides
The dwarves, elves, and men
Seven kingdoms of Fae
Work together again
Until one day
Shadow and fire
Marsh and bog
Pain and ire
Death and fog
The last realm of this land
One where evil resides
Bearing a red brand
When they come, run and hide
When legends and myths were just getting told
When the winter was hot and the summer cold
That's when our story begins
The moons and the sun began to shine
The dwarves in the mountains began to mine
The elves sung to trees and forests sublime
And so our story begins
The castles were built
The songs were sung
The water was spilt
So the oceans were sprung
Great kingdoms arose
Grand weapons were forged
New foes to oppose
Old friendships restored
But there was more to discover
A magic to learn
New lands to uncover
A secret that burned
In a place where winds swept over the plains
Where forests are lush because of the rains
Where the mountains keep jewels and gold in veins
That's where magic resides
Where the water shines and the stars glow bright
Where chimes are heard all through the night

Work together again
Until one day
Shadow and fire
Marsh and bog
Pain and ire
Death and fog
The last realm of this land
One where evil resides
Bearing a red brand
When they come, run and hide
But the darkest places hold troves that are vast
Where treasure is found, and glory at last
Blessings and curses, the dice recast
And there the world will end
For a while we took from the resources there
For a while we took from the resources there
But it proved too dark for the just and the fair
A war was fought, the Gate sealed with care
But there the world will end
A prophecy!
A rising shadow
Hypocrisy
A dark blade
A prophecy!
A band of heroes
An odyssey
Champions made
A prophecy!
Of death and battle
Mythology
The final raid
The three realms of our world are tied to each other
Each has left our mark on another
To save ourselves, we must band together
And our story will survive
The land is tainted with hate and strife
But there is magic and light and life
A clash of good and bad; of sword and knife
But our story can survive."
The musician finishes his song with a few melodic strums, his companions playing a few final notes on their flute-like instruments. The inn has a hushed air - the song leaves an archaic feeling in the room, like an ancient tome was just opened for the first time in centuries. A few of the customers hastily wipe away tears - the song got really powerful in some moments. The singer looks up at you, his eyes twinkling knowingly. For a brief second, a smile plays across his lips. When he speaks, his words cut through the air like a flaming sword through water.
