Gnomish

Spoken by those who live underground, the Gnomish language most closely resembles the screeching of bats and other creatures which use echolocation to hunt and communicate.

Gnomish is incredibly difficult to learn, less because its incomprehensible, and more because the language itself relies on being spoken underground in Gnomish tunnels.

Many aboveground Gnomes who continue to speak Gnomish have a habit of repeating themselves during conversation to replicate the echoing that naturally occurs within the language underground.

Writing System

Gnomish does not actually have an alphabet, nor a written language, owing to the fact that they are an entirely nomadic species.

Geographical Distribution

Spoken underground everywhere except beneath Lumin, where there are no Gnomes.
