Fairy Rings

"She's gone! Been taken away the moment I took my eyes off her. There's that group of trees, right? The one that grows in a perfect circle? She stepped in to get her doll back, and then she was gone!

Manifestation

While traditionally thought of as random rings of mushrooms on the ground, a fairy ring is actually more a sudden grouping of fey-related items or phenomena in the same area. These can manifest as anything from giant holes in trees, to a natural stone arch, to an unusual pattern in the snow, but the magic that flows from these phenomena does produce a sizable ring around the center point. The most reliable way to discern a fairy ring from a more natural creation would be to look closely at the colour of the area. Everything seems just slightly too saturated around the concentrated fey magic. That being said, this method is far from perfect and it's generally considered better to be safe than sorry.

Localization

While very rare in most places, fairy rings are actually relatively common in the northern portions of Othanan. This is most likely due to the higher concentrations of fey here, particularly in Lumin's forest.
