Tieflings of Cambrium

Tieflings, much like humans, are an extremely adaptable race with a propensity towards hotter climates due to their fiendish or demonic ancestry. A tiefling occurs when a devil or a demon has a child with a member of the sentient races - usually a human - however this does not need to be a direct ancestry, I.E mother and father. Someone can be born a tiefling even if the devil or demon lineage in their family line is distant, which is most often the case. They have no specific place of origin or native continent due to the fact that a tiefling offspring can occur with any humanoid race.

While in the Forgotten Realms tieflings are strictly only related to fiends, in Cambrium they can be related to both fiends and demons. Fiendish tieflings tend to be more humanoid in appearance, while demonic tieflings tend to have a slightly more bestial appearance. While both types of tieflings have a reputation of being untrustworthy, fiendish tieflings are often preferred to demonic tieflings the same way one might prefer a cut throat lawyer to a serial killer.

Most of a tiefling's attributes and life span averages rely on the sentient race they are joined to, but as tieflings typically come from humans they will be used as an average in most cases. However, when comparing tieflings that are related to other sentient races it is best to consult that particular race's article for life span averages and other physical traits.

A tiefling has a similar lifespan to a human, living for an average of 120 years. They are considered a fully matured adult at 21. They tend to be around five feet to six feet tall though demonic tieflings tend to average on the taller side, and often have outstanding features that make it immediately apparent that they are a tiefling, whether that be horns, a tail, unusual eyes or an unusual complexion. On rare occasions a tiefling can be born with wings. Most tiefling horns follow a caprinae design, but some may have entirely different horn typing. Their hair, skin and eye colour is varied and mostly depends on their humanoid ancestry, though this can also be completely random and down to genetics.
