Humans of Cambrium
The humans of Cambrium are well known for their adaptability, resourcefulness, stubborn will to survive and the ability to thrive even in the most extreme environments. Humans can be found in every corner of the world, from the coldest tundras to the hottest deserts, and even the peak of Cambrium's mighty mountains. While humans are not the pinnacle of strength or intelligence, they generally average in all aspects, making them good well rounders where most sentient races tend to excel in one or two avenues. This allows humans to flourish in all kinds of different jobs, backgrounds and classes with little to no cons.
While humans are considered one of the 'younger' sentient races, their exact origins is still a hotly debated topic amongst scholars and historians due to the Dragonwar wiping out all records of human history before it ended. What historical context can be found suggests that Cadence and Jhenta are the two continents in which humans were originally native to before spreading out across the globe. However, some evidence suggests that humans came into being while the two continents were still conjoined, before it was split apart by the Bitter Strait and thus both continents are the true origins of humanity. Despite this, Cadence is often nicknamed as the 'cradle of humankind'.
Another factor that demonstrates a human's adaptability is their ability to have children with most other sentient races. Typically this is limited to 'human-like' races such as gnomes, dwarves, tieflings, elves, etc, however there have been rare cases of a child being born from a human and beastkin relationship. A human who has fully human ancestors and no other sentient race is considered quite a rarity as cross-breeding with other races was considered a necessity in order to survive the more extreme environments of Cambrium.
Human culture is considered as varied and different as the people themselves, rather than having a fairly homogenised cultural background. For example, the humans of Iskan will have a completely different culture to the humans living in Jarnbjorn. Again, it is believed that this is because humans had to adapt rather than settle down their own proverbial roots, and chose to adopt the culture of those around them and then changing the popular beliefs into something better suited for their own cultural lens.
Some sentient races consider humans to be vermin given their prolific ability to survive in extremes and 'multiply rapidly', however due to the fact that humans are present in all echelons of society they do not tend to experience the same level of prejudice as other sentient races.
Human appearances is as varied as they are, however typically have warm coloured complexions with an average height of between five feet and six feet tall, and have a variety of hair and eye colours. Those with other ancestries in their bloodlines may also have unusual complexions, or additional features such as small horns, forked tongues, claw-like nails, etc. Humans typically live up to 100 years on average but most don't see past 80. A human is considered a fully matured adult at age 21. Their lifespan can be altered depending on their ancestry with other races, however this average is typically for full blooded humans.
