Giff, Hadozee and Loxodon of Cambrium

Giff

Also known as hippofolk or hippopotami, they are native to Molferciti and Shaojing however most modern generations of giff are born and raised in Jhenta. This is because in the past giff conquered Jhenta and colonized it from the native loxodon there, overwhelming them with a mixture of powerful firearms and their innate psychic power. The giff of Cambrium are known to be shrewd businessfolk that hold a strong alliance with mercantile dwarves, and are often born into noble or wealthy families, and aren't known for their charitable donations unless there's something in it for them - a common saying about giff is that you usually have to pay one in order to have them agree with you. While giff covet gold and money, they also covet expensive and unusual food; if you can't afford paying in money most giff will also accept unique or expensive food or gun powder as payment. Despite the fact that a large majority of firearm exports go to giff they were not involved in their creation, however giff are usually more intelligent than the average sentient race and have developed their own unique firearms to better suit their larger hands.

Giff are usually six feet to eight feet tall, with wide, stocky bodies that are naturally muscular and blubbery and feet similar to a feral pachyderm. Corpulent forms are seen as physically attractive to giff society, and their size doesn't seem to impede them in any way. Most giff have grey or brown skin, growing pink on their underbelly and extremities. They typically are bald but some choose to wear large and elaborate wigs to show off their wealth, and they can have an array of different eye colours though blue and brown are most common. The giff have a unique adaptation to protect their sensitive skin by which they are able to 'sweat' an oily red substance that acts as a natural sun block. Most clothing made for giff are created to resist this oily secretion to avoid staining their attire. Giff live for an average of 200 years old, becoming fully matured adults at 40, which is the human equivalent of 21. The patron deities of giff are Sekhem, Olmir and Delphinium.

Hadozee

The 'flying' primate race find themselves native to the sky islands that float above Cambrium. They developed the loose flaps of skin on their sides - known as a patagium - to allow them to glide through the air as a means of protection from falling off the sky islands and plummeting to their death. Hadozee are usually seen by other races as pirates (both sky and seaborne), mercenaries, bandits and thieves, and so while they have never been a part of a conflict many consider them as beastkin because of their nature driving towards chaos and mischief, though hadozee are not inherently evil. They value freedom, being given the choice to decide their path in life, and are generally unserious in nature.

Hadozee are typically four feet to seven feet tall, living for an average of 100 years and becoming fully matured adults at 21, though most don't live past 70 due to their chaotic lifestyles. Their appearance varies wildly, able to take on the appearance of any known primate - however they do not have tails, having their patagium instead. The patron deities of hadozee are Ambellina and Khiimori.

Loxodon

Also known as elephantfolk, loxodon are native to Jhenta and Cadence. Despite their huge, powerful frames they are known to typically be peaceful and gentle as it is in their nature to dislike warfare or conflict. They tend to lean towards more intellectual pursuits, finding it easier to use their minds than relying on their unwieldy bodies, and have been the forerunners for metaphysical science, alchemy and philosophy. Despite their generally pacifistic nature that does not mean loxodon are unwilling to defend themselves or the people they care for; an enraged loxodon is a truly frightening sight to behold, able to let loose bone shaking trumpets and loud, rumbling growls from their trunks. Loxodon were once the dominant race of Jhenta before they were colonised by giff several centuries ago, who were able to overpower their natural physical strength with firearms and psychic powers. It took many decades of campaigning and pushing the usually gentle loxodon into conflict before the giff finally relinquished control of the continent, however the effects of this colonisation is still present in the modern day. Loxodon do not have noble families and are not wealthy, but most live comfortable lives as they are typically not materialistic in nature, preferring more spiritual pursuits. Some even choose to forgo having a domicile and instead are nomadic in nature, relying on the kindness of strangers to offer them housing or sustenance where needed. It is common for female loxodon to remain in large family units and for male loxodon to be solitary in nature, but not always. Most have a strong moral sense of right and wrong (which differs per the individual), have a yearning to seek justice or balance in the world, and have a reputation for being stubborn and hard to sway. Many loxodon still hold a natural dislike or distrust towards giff.

Loxodon are usually seven feet to eight feet tall, with large, barrel-chested bodies, long arms and pachyderm-like feet. The most common skin tone for loxodon is any shade of grey, however they can also be brown, reddish-brown, light pink or white in colour. Less common are loxodon who appear like mammoths, which are covered in wiry fur that's typically ginger or brown in colour. Loxodon can have an array of different eye colours, though blue and brown are most common. Their trunks are dextrous in nature and can be used as a rudimentary limb to hold things but cannot complete complex tasks. They can live up to 450 years old and become fully matured adults at 60, which is the human equivalent of 21. The patron deity of loxodon is Yasei.
