Aasimar of Cambrium
Similar to their fiendish counterparts, aasimar do not have a native land due to the fact that part of their heritage comes from a celestial origin. Instead they typically take on the culture of the mortal half of their lineage (Usually human, but not always). Most aasimar come from low-tiered celestials and angels of whom interact the most with mortals in the material plane, as higher-tiered celestials and angels typically have no interest in cavorting with mortals. Unlike tieflings however, who are generally common or uncommon sights around the continents, aasimar are very rare, to the point that many people go their full lives without ever meeting one. To this end, many people believe that aasimar are not real and instead are simply the human (or sentient race equivalent) manifestation of what they believe a celestial's interaction with mortals might be like, and that historically documented aasimar are either celestial entities in disguise or more of a personification rather than an actual, living person with a celestial heritage. In Cambrium, aasimar can be pronounced both AAY-sah-mar and Aas-SI-mar, and there are many scholarly arguments as to which one is the true pronounication.
Because of this, it is difficult to document just how many aasimar live on Cambrium at any given time. It is assumed that there is at least several hundred at the very minimum, but beyond a rough estimation no official count has ever been done on aasimar. This is in part due to their rarity and in part due to the way that aasimar are born, which can be very spontaneous and random. A family line that has not seen an aasimar in centuries may one day find the newest addition to the family is an aasimar, or that a child has an interaction with a celestial entity that causes them to become an aasimar and thus begins a bloodline that contains celestial power. Aasimar have anywhere between one fraction to 50% celestial heritage within them, depending on different factors including the length of time between celestial manifestations and how long ago the celestial entity was introduced into the family. Unlike other bloodlines that remain static and unchanging, aasimar that were born with a fraction of celestial power can in fact learn to harness up to 50% of their celestial heritage with proper training and power, however how this process is achieved remains a mystery.
Most aasimar are created from the union of a movanic deva and a mortal, as they have the most contact with mortal planes, however in some cases other deva can be the origin of one's celestial heritage. While most assume that aasimar are descendants of the human-like celestials they can also descend from ki-rin or other non-human entities. Aasimar are never the result of a deity and a mortal, which create an entirely different being known as an empyrean, of whom very rarely leave the celestial planes. It is typical for aasimar to be more or less indistinguishable from their mortal lineage, however some exhibit physical features that make them stand out and their partially inhuman heritage noticeable. Due to this, many aasimar use magic to disguise themselves or simply hide away from society to protect themselves, as aasimar blood is often sought after in black markets and for spell components. Many nobles believe that imbibing or bathing in the blood of an aasimar can bring eternal youth or immense power - neither of which has been confirmed true.
Most of an aasimar's attributes and life span averages rely on the sentient race they are joined to, but as aasimar typically come from humans they will be used as an average in most cases. However, when comparing aasimar that are related to other sentient races it is best to consult that particular race's article for life span averages and other physical traits. Aasimar are considered a fully matured adult at 50 years old, which is the human equivalent to 21 years old, and they have an average life span of around 300 years. They tend to be around five feet to seven feet tall, as many celestials are typically on the taller side. While most aasimar are capable of manifesting wings through their celestial power an even rarer type of aasimar are born with wings that are capable of flight.
