Strangleweed

Strangleweed is a relatively common plant that often grows over graves, or in other places where death abounds. It is not uncommon for Strangleweed to begin growing at the site of a large battle, preying on those looking to loot the bodies.   Strangleweed will, when touched, attempt to grab a creature and pull it under the ground into it's large network of roots beneath. Young Strangleweed can only succeed against tiny creatures, but fed enough, a mature Strangleweed can drag down even the mightiest of creatures. Luckily, the stuff is susceptible to fire, and so can be cleared out relatively easily once successfully detected. This can be difficult though, as only a few sprouts are often visible from above ground, in curled knots.   Strangleweed has also been known to be used as a poison. When distilled and drank, it will quickly expand and contort around a creatures' airway, suffocating them.   Strangleweed can be found in all climates and parts of Calradia.
When brewed into a poison, causes 1d6 Force damage to the target every 6 seconds until dead. Can be resisted by a DC16 Constitution Saving Throw. Target makes a new save each 6 seconds.
