Sargoth
Sargot is a common name for hills, promontories, islands and other defensible positions in western Calradia. It refers to a fortified encampment of the Massa, a warlike local people who allied with the Swadians and joined their invasion, after losing faith in the empire. Though the Massa were eventually wiped out by their Swadian allies (for rebelling against them after the Swadians attempted to subjugate them), their stay was often so traumatic for an Imperial district that the name remained long after their departure. This Sargot was actually founded on the ruins of an imperial town, resettled by Swadians, and which has supplanted the memory of the community that came before it.
The City of Sargot is small, but not to be underestimated. It is here that the many retinues, mercenary companies, and armies of the Swadians gather for war, and even in peace the meet here to conduct mock battles against each other. At it's root, Swadian society is built off of being prepared for war, and Sargot is it's epitome. Sargot is also known as "the city of a thousand forges", as resources are imported from all over to forge seemingly limitless weapons of war. these weapons are needed, for the city is surrounded by military tents stretching as far as the eye can see, housing all the peasant-soldiers of the kingdom. For many Swadian peasants looking to rise from their lowly station, this is where they seek their fortunes, as mercenary companies bound for wars across the continent recruit the top soldiers from the tent-cities surrounding the city proper.
Naturally, Sargot is the seat of the King Rhuiden Dey Meroc, as from his throne he can keep a keen eye and stern control over his and his vassal's forces. The city itself has been split into 2 quarters, each fo a purpose. One half is a center of debauchery, as it is filled with taverns, alehouses, trinket sellers and loot buyers, geared towards serving the soldiers who have been lucky enough to gain leave to go into the city for rest and relaxation. The soldiers spend their money on beer, fun, and company, and so the owners of the establishments here grow rich off the wages of the soldiers. The second quarter is the artisan's quarter, where forgemasters and blacksmiths work tirelessly to fabricate and repair the weapons of the multitude of soldiers. It is also within the artisan's district that the King's keep resides, to keep it away from the filth of the soldier's quarter.
This city was the extent of Eastward expansions of the Swadians, but they are always poised to change this fact, should the opportunity arise.
