Order Lamius

The order Lamius was founded to fight the abhorrent monsters created by necromancy or other evil magics perpetrated on the bodies of civilized peoples. They are hunters of those creatures which are abominations of the natural form. They hunt the vampire, the werewolf, and the mutant. Whereas their order can be described as the most morbid, and introverted, they are also well known for their genuine attempts to return their targets to their pure untainted state, rather than slaughtering outright. There are stories of Order Lamius agents reversing vampirism, or curing lycanthropy rather than killing them outright. Do not mistake this for weakness though, their agents are extremely well drilled and effective, and are known to have the highest success rates with the lowest casualty rates.
Their compassion derives from a religious belief that the abominations they seek to slay were once good people and followers of the All-Father, and so should be treated with respect, even if they need to be destroyed. Operating in this grey zone makes many of the agents of the order become more and more dark of mood as they grow more experienced. Many of the older hunters can barely smile in response to the graciousness of the clients and praise of townsfolk.
The Order Lamius has a headquarters in Sargoth, in the Kingdom of Swadia.
