Low Calradic

Low Calradic is by far the most commonly spoken language on the continent. Almost any town or village you enter, at minimum over half of the village will be able to speak Low Calradic, and it is almost universal in cities. Low Calradic is the 'working language' of the continent. The language evolved during the height of the Calradian Empire, and is an amalgamation of many regional languages that used to exist, resulting in a bit of a "mish-Mash" of lingual conventions. The language is spoken with a thousand different accents, and local dialects/slang, but if you need to be understood by most civilized people in Calradia, you need to speak Low Calradic.

Low Calradic does have some basic writing conventions, but due to the varied language rules that make it up, it is not suited to being easily written down. Instead most people have learned how to use various types of handwritting and symbols to communicate in low calradic. Proper writing is reserved for High Calradic.
