Charas

The city known today as Charas is traditionally reckoned to be the first major city founded after the crusades. At the Empire's height, the city then known as Charasea remained a key hub of sea-faring and trade, while imperial aristocrats built their summer homes on the warm shores of the nearby gulf and cruised their pleasure-boats around its islands. When The Kingdom of the Swadians came, Charas fell into the hands of the ruthless House of dey Cortain, and its wealth funded their ambitions. However, the The Western Calradian Empire managed to reclaim the city in the year 1902, and has since built it up as it's main Southern Defence, and a major economic power.   The city produces a massive amount of salt, key to preserving food and a massive source of revenue for the city and its merchants. In addition, close to surface iron veins near the city have allowed them to produce armor at a rapid pace, with most of the armour of the Western Imperial Legions being produced here. Between these two industries, the city's civilian populace has flourished.   With all this windfall, the local government has spent vast sums of wealth on fortifying the city with strong walls and defensive works. The city is built atop 3 hills along the coast of The Perassic Sea, and is not easily attacked by land or sea. Not only are the prepared to block any Swadian attack from the West, but they must also remain vigilant to the South, as the Aserai too have their eyes set on the wealth and prosperity of Charas.
