Titan's Pond

The Titan's Pond used to be a fertile plain in the southwest corner of Calernia. When Dread Empress Triumphant marched her Legions of Terror through what would, in her wake, become the Principate of Procer, the Gigantes began to worry. Like water filling the grooves of creation, individuals rose and were granted power by the gods to stop this terror. A band of Gigantes heroes was formed to fight the Dread Empress and stop her from seizing the artifacts of the Titans. On the plains of Cordova, the five heroes met Triumphant. Their battle was long and hard fought, for the gods below favored Triumphant much as the gods above favored their band. The hordes of evil marched into the valley, savaging the armies standing opposed to them. Devils and Demons marched with them and storms of black lightning were summoned by Triumphant's mages. Just when all seemed lost, the band of heroes sung a hymn of Judgement, and an Angel responded, tearing into the world to smite the evil that was so deserving. However, when the Angel's wrath had been spent, amidst the burnt and blackened ruin of the plains that once were, Triumphant stood. She slew the angel, and the heroes, seeing that all was lost, sang a hymn of power. The Titan may have been lost in the Titan's Folly, but his children remembered him. And so they borrowed his dominion over water and called the ocean to drown the armies of Triumphant and slay the Dread Empress herself. The ocean is not so easily controlled however, and the heroes were but a shade of their ancestors glory. They sacrificed themselves to slay a tyrant, and their sacrifice created a pond where there had once been a sea of grass. Three cities, a swath of fertile plains, and thousands of lives were lost, but in the end, the heroes had slain the leading villain of the age.
