Benann

Benann the giant is the chief of the straths and glens that flow from the lonely hills that surround the flows. Standing over seven foot tall he towers over most men, a ruddy great beast of a man with red hair and a long curly red beard. His sheer size and weight is enough to make most men tremble into submission just from his presence alone. Although he proudly bears the  scars of many conflicts and encounters, most notably a long grapevine scar down his face, from his forehead , over his eyesocket and down his cheek, making him blind in one eye and all the more fearsome looking for it. Benann was the fifth child of his parents, one of nine siblings. Six boys and three girls. A peculiar affliction that all his siblings are giants stature. Benann had a tough upbringing being the younger of his brothers. When his oldest brother and sister were taken away by the smertae raiders it is said that the other remaining brothers picked on Benann. As time went on eventually Benanns father passed away and the cheifdom was to fall to his elder brother. The story goes that Benann killed his own brother in a rage of anger and since that time he has held the cheifdom of the straths. Leading his siblings into ambushing and robbing unsuspecting pilgrims crossing the ord of Catt. For none of his clan till the fields of raise cattle, for they tax the lands of dunbeath perpetually to meet their basic needs.    The Ord of Catt is a vast granite outcrop jutting out into the sea, forming a lofty headland with percipitous cliffs falling to the crashing seas below. The lands of the Cornavi to the north and the Lugi to the south are separated by this desolate rocky outcrop, crossing the ord is one of the only overland routes into cornavi lands. A dangerous path winds it way up around the vertiginous cliffs, on one side a sheer drop to the foaming seas below and on the other a wet desert dominates the landscape for as far as the eye can see.   The ord has always been a dangerous way, not only for its difficult paths but due to its remoteness and being the only land access north. Since times of yore outcasts and rebels have taken to the desolate hills to prey on those making there way north across the ord on druidic pilgrimage to Orkney.   The giant Benann
