The Royal House of Romanov
At Whose Feet the Roses Grow
The royal house of Romanov is one of the six ancient houses of Albion and rulers over the eastern realm of Livonia and its constituents. They have enjoyed great solitude since the fall of the Empire and have remained isolated in terms of war and destruction compared to the rest of the realm. This peace and prosperity has allowed a great fostering of the arts, history and culture of the peoples of Albion, and all Romanovs are taught the finer ways of life from an early age, either through music, painting or acting.
The Romanovs were the only great house which was chosen by their people to rule, and to this day lead the only constitutional monarchy in all of Albion. They enjoy a certain popularity among their citizens due to their lax nature and indirect rule, but are woefully underequipped in military matters and lack a strong, central military leadership. Invasions faced by goblins from Ascia and Northmen from Trondheim have done them no favours with their own populace in recent years.
The current head of the house, King Piotr Romanov I, rules from the well-fortified capital of Livon where he has amassed great collections of art and history from all over Albion. He is well-known as a father of the arts and intends to continue his family's heritage. His true test as a leader however, will be dealing with matters of defense now that the need arises.
