The Industrious and Inventive Gnomes of Pangation
The Gnomes of Pangation are renowned for their inventiveness. Many a child plays with a mechanical toy fashioned of wood or metal and made by a Gnome. In addition, most households own a clock created by a Gnome as their mechanisms are accurate and durable.
Towns and cities make use of the Gnomes efficient machines for mills, blacksmithing, ship building, and aqueducts.
Currently, the Gnomes have been tasked with inventing a mode of transporting large numbers of people around the continent of Calandyrion in preparation for the upcoming Great Conjunction and the war expected to come with it.
To date, the gnomes have already calculated the maximum size and shape of a warship’s capacity and while impressive it may not be reactive enough to meet the needs for the upcoming war. Oversized wagons were looked at and found to quickly become too unwieldy to be much help. So, given these drawbacks the gnomes have taken to exploring the viability of aerial vehicles that while small compared to a warship may be inexpensive to the point that more could be build cheaply and in greater numbers.
Demographics
A total of 50,000 people live in Pangation. The largest population consists of Gnomes followed by dwarves, humans and transient elves and other oddball races. However, a large population of halflings maintain their cottages and burrows outside the town limits.
Industry & Trade
The gnomes of Pangation while a well integrated population have tended to place their businesses in the southwest quadrant of the town. They did this in order to encourage the free flow of information when working towards some new industrial endeavor.
Guilds and Factions
The Steamer's Guild is dedicated to improving the uses of steam as it relates to heavy machinery.
Gear Maker's Guild is self describing.
Woodworker's Guild
Architecture
The Gnomes, given their small stature, tend to live in houses similar to human dwelling albeit of smaller dimensions. On the other hand their businesses tend to be larger and their architecture exhibits chaotic shapes and dimensions.
Geography
The gnomish businesses are located on the hillier side of Pangation but has a large thoroughfare leading to the Otillian Bay.
