Castle Tantibus

Archduke Tantibus was a vain man but he was given his title for his heroic efforts during that “Barbarian Hoard Wars”. The wars were fought during the summers because the barbarians kept infringing upon the lands of Sevenberg. Each year the archduke would take the king’s armies right out to the edges of the badlands and await the arrival of the barbarians but that 5th year was different. The barbarians seemed more desperate and unorganized than in past years. Tantibus touted the barbarian hoard and they never returned.

Upon his return from the “Barbarian Hoard War” and receiving his title Tantibus sought a bride. Finally, while journeying through Sevenberg Tantibus came a woman of great beauty. The girl was beautiful of fair complexion, blonde, blue doe eyes and a lithe of build. It turned out that Lorelei, as that was her name, was the daughter of the local king. Tantibus sought out the girl’s father requested his daughter’s hand in marriage. The king being in a bit of financial difficulties agreed that for 2 chests of gold Tantibus could have his daughter. Lorelei was crestfallen that see meant so little to her father and held a grudge against Tantibus for the situation.

After being married about 5 years something, unexplained to this day, happened and the Archduke just disappeared. After searching for a year, the archduke was declared dead and his properties deeded to Lorelei. With the archduke dead the parties at the castle were no more. Lorelei continued to live there but notice was taken the land was dying and that Lorelei became reclusive living alone in that big castle.
