Wraith Guard
The Wraith Guard is the title of the elite, highly trained, counter magic forces sent to remove rogue magic elements from the general populace. They are well respected and loved by most of the human common folk, and the majority of the other races hold them in high esteem as well either as protectors or rivals. The Wraiths are conditioned from a young age and brought up their entire lives honoring and living by the Code of Apotheosis which instructs them in all things to seek to elevate themselves above the common man, not for the sake of the ego, but so as to be able to maintain a phalanx of hope by standing with the people they serve and protect from the vile and corrupted forces of arcane treachery that led to the breaking of the world. They tirelessly put themselves in harm's way to defend the people and interests of the Empire of Becht, and ceaselessly hunt down the unsanctioned users of magic called aberrants.

History
Founded not long after the signing of the Pact of Erindall as a means to weed out any further dangerous elements and items tied to arcane practices, the Wraith Guard holds its rank and file to a high standard of ethics and practice. This code is called, the Code of Apotheosis:

Historical loyalties
The Wraith Guard is the standing deterrent against magic, as expressed in the Pact of Erindall. While they answer directly to the Sovereign, their loyalties are split between the state and the Bechtlarite Intelligence Bureau.
